Amazing World of Gumball - The Mystery

Not as amazing as it could be.
Now I've recently gotten into this show thanks to the first DVD and I have nothing but positive things to say about it. The show touches on a lot of levels of humor and if you don't find one joke funny then there's another one following right after that makes up for it. As usual with Cartoon Network DVDs the special features leave much to be desired, this time having a measly character gallery. The other thing that drags this down is that it, like the first DVD, is misleading. The twelve episodes are actually eleven minute segments that come out to just over two hours.

For the price it is a pretty good deal, and since the first season is thirty eight segments that leads me to believe there will be one last DVD to complete the season. Luckily there's no continuity in the show so the fact that the segments were divided up is not as bad as it could be, but I would have enjoyed watching the shorts in order.

Good show, good price. Worth the purchase.

Another Third of Season One
As with most DVD releases of TV shows, there are really two issues we need to deal with: the show itself and the merits of this particular release. For those not familiar with The Amazing World of Gumball, I've cut and pasted my review of the show itself below.

While there is yet to be a full season release, the three disks they have released (including this product, Amazing World of Gumball: The Dvd, and Amazing World of Gumball 3: The Party) do together make up the full first season. There's no overlap and there are no omissions: if you buy them all, you will have all thirty six episodes.

Nevertheless, in the absence of a full season release, while I would give Gumball as a show the full five stars, on the basis of what we're being offered here, I'm knocking that back to four.

Hilarious from beginning to end, my daughter and I laugh so loud, we almost cried. I strongly recommend this to spend time w/your kids laughing your butt off.
