Archer: The Complete Season Three [Blu-ray]

Life is good again
All is good again in the Universe. Archer is back for season three and it picks up right where it left off. Yes, life is good again. He is truly everything the five year old in me wants to be.

The most sharks shot in the face
Yes. A tasty slab of Archer with a side of comedic heavyweights (David Cross is a snug fit). If there is a place in hell for writers who just piss away an amazing show after a couple of great seasons, these writers will be peeing off a cloud onto that place, and will probably eat some asparagus beforehand. I am a smiling slave to this show. Oh, and if you don't catch it all on the first go, you can trust that it will age well.

Archer
I was hooked from season 1. Still watch it over and over, there are so many little idioms and sayings you will find new gems each time you watch. I could not believe they had this on a non-premium channel. Not a series you could have a conversation about at the water cooler. But you will find yourself telling people to just watch. Season 1 amazing (watch Mole Hunt or Diversity Hire), Season 2 was lacking and picked up at the end (best episodes 2:3,2:8-9,2:11-12) (wondering if the Jon Benjamin has a van) series interfered with season 2 writing. Season 3 episodes 1-3 was good and redeemed it's self again. BTW if you can catch the Jon Benjamin has a Van, it's done quite well.

Sterling Malory Archer (H. Jon Benjamin), codename: Duchess Though he shows proficiency in stereotypical spy skills--weapons, driving, martial arts--his only real interest in the job is the opportunity to enjoy a jet-setting lifestyle full of sex, alcohol, thrills, lacrosse, fast cars and spy toys...

Ghost Hunters Academy

Great show!
I missed this show on the original run on SYFY so was glad to see it was released on dvd.I can tell you, I really got into this show. I think the pace is good thourought. I would highly reccomend this show!

Broken disc holder that holds the 4 discs
Terrible inside of the dvd. Comes with 4 disc's and the disc holder (plastic in center) was literally in pieces inside the dvd box with the dvd's loose and rolling around. There is no way to keep the disc's in the middle. Nothing left for it to hold on to. I want another box, I am going to try to return this item. Never did this before from amazon.

Boring!
Predictable. You could rename it: "Clash Of The Ego's" as the contestants vie for coveted spots on various Teams. Yawn!

The episodes are:

Spanish and French 2.0 Dolby Digital Audio

Rise of the Bullzooka has the rangers battling a monster that can duplicate himself. Serrator puts the rangers under an eating spell. Kevin and Mike must work as a team when they are literally glued together. The Nighlok monsters attack an island and sets up a track for the rangers. The rangers must use their newest weapon the Bullzooka and their Super Samurai powers to win the battle. Meanwhile, Spike's crush on the Pink...

Why Continue with Volume Releases???
I don't understand why they continue to release the individual volumes when we already got the complete season of Super Samurai? Not to mention it's available on Blu-ray. It's cheaper to buy the complete season over the individual volumes, but I guess if you need the special features *THAT* bad...

Stone Soup and other stories from the Asian Tradition

Another Read-Along DVD Entry, This One Highlighting Four Classic Tales From Asia
I appreciate that Scholastic Storybook Treasures is representing different cultures with their DVD programming, and these adaptations of classic Asian tales fit nicely into their ever-expanding (and increasingly diverse) filmography. If you are not familiar with the Scholastic Storybook Treasures series, it might be important to note that these are not really traditional animated features. Instead, these presentations are relatively simple in movement, more akin to a picture book presentation than to a frenetic cartoon. Geared toward the age range of 4-9 (to my mind, they skew at the younger side of that spectrum), these stories do have the "Read Along" captioning function that allows your kids to follow along as the narrator (in this case, B.D. Wong) relays the tale. I'm a big fan of anything geared toward kids that promotes reading, so this is a big plus in my book!

At only 43 minutes, "Stone Soup And Other Stories From The Asian Tradition" presents four distinct...

Spy: Series 1

Worth Every Penny
This show is adorable, funny, endearing, and an all around lovely experience. Honestly one of the greatest shows on TV right now, good for the whole family, and hilarious every time I watch it. I am always introducing my friends and family to this show!

a good start
The first series had some great laugh-out-loud moments, but the direction the series was heading was a little unclear. This, however, is resolved in the second series which will, hopefully, be released as a region 1 very soon. I was upset to hear that Boyd announced there will be no 3rd series.

Warm and entertaining
Though the episode plots sometimes seem very random, this show genuinely makes me laugh out loud in surprise. The characters are ridiculous and yet very human, and it's one of the few shows still being produced that I'm excited to keep watching.

Blue Mountain State Season 3

Continuing The Excellence Of Season 2!
When Thad exclaims "I built it by myself, without any help!" I had to smile for a moment at the abstract idea that it was Alan Ritchson/Thad Castle who had made BMS such an entertaining series (he HAS been great)... and just as Thad had truly been helped in building the football field, it was the entire cast of BMS that made the show work.

Season 3 features more of the natural character development and strangely wholesome stories of friendship that we began to see in Season 2: the show still tries to push your gross-out buttons, but everyone "hugs it out" in the end.

The two part season 3 finale offers much more closure than earlier seasons, which is nice in light of the fact that Spike decided not to renew the show for a 4th season, though many will still wish we could join Alex for his senior year.

In closing l must say that I have watched many episodes of Blue Mountain State multiple times, and found greater appreciation for the more subtle...

Finally season three
It's been a long time coming waiting for season 3 of BMS. The sleeve looks like it was printed off a home laserjet hp printer, and the case looks like something I would buy from Wal Mart. The discs are printed with BMS season 3 disc 1 and 2. All that aside, it is great quality. Every episode worked for me, though they have the final episode, parts one and two, together. So it's an hour long, just a heads up.

Other than that, if you have been waiting for BMS season 3 on DVD this is as good as it's going to get and I recommend it to anyone.

Awesome show!!
loved it!!! Dvd arrived on time and in perfect condition. The cover and DVD's did look homemade but the quality of the picture was perfect. Blue mountain state is hilarious and is a shame that it was cancelled!

Masterpiece: Downton Abbey Complete Seasons 1, 2, & 3 DVD Set (Original U.K. Edition)

Definitive Box Set.........So Far!
This DVD set is a real treat as it includes all 25 episodes from Series 1-3. There are seven episodes from the first series, eight each from the second and third, plus the 2011 Christmas special which was arguably the best single episode so far; it was certainly one of the most dramatic! The less impressive 2012 Christmas Special is also included to round off Season 3.

The three series so far have taken us from 1912, just after the sinking of the Titanic, up to 1920. The circumstances surrounding each series have been in contrast with each other. The first series ran up to the start of the First World War, and the one of the main thrusts of the story line was the matchmaking within the Crawley family and the various financial and social influences on the choice of a suitable partner.

The second series moves on to the war years, when Downton Abbey had been converted into a convalescent home for injured servicemen. The time setting is from the Battle of the Somme...

Downton Abbey Seasons
We were expecting the complete season of Downton Abbey but got selected episodes. It is evident there were very significant episodes that were not included. That 'might' be acceptable 'if' it had been made clear in the product description. It created discontinuity and difficulty in understanding plot situations.

I love this series
I watched all 3 seasons on PBS and loved it enough to buy it. This is the British version and I was disappointed to find that whole scenes were edited out, presumably to allow for the commercials on ITV in England. These scenes were not crucial, but did clarify some later events. If I buy the 4th season, I will be sure to get the US version.

Night Court: The Complete Eighth Season

HAPPY TO FIND ONE OF MY FAVORITE SERIES
Night Court was one of my favorite shows and I am so happy to have found it. I was able to find the first two seasons at one of the big box stores, but could only get the rest from Amazon.
I have really enjoyed watching the series again.

High-end price, low-end media
I had bought seasons 4 and 5 on this MOD title and was... less than impressed.

The price was higher than previous seasons, and a burn on a consumer-grade off-the-shelf disc* was a turnoff. For the price commanded, a low-grade disc is a ripoff.

Especially as season 4's release had a mastering error with the audio losing sync in one episode, which is not attributable to the master videotapes shot circa 1985 or whenever...

* those purple-dye discs that have nothing near the claimed lifespan of the professionally pressed (silver, reflective metallic-looking) media; in the past when I archived on burnable DVDs, I had problems within a couple of years. Fleecing is for sheep. Not for people.

Its Night Court, but nothing else
I'm a little torn on the "manufacturing on demand" model. I'll say upfront, that I like it, and hope to see season 9 soon. But it has its drawbacks.

With this season, you get each episode, unmodified in any way (good or bad). That is all. No deleted scenes, no gag reel, no previews, no bonus content of ANY kind... not even subtitles. Nothing is remastered, polished, enhanced, or corrected in any way.

Keep the above in mind when it comes to the price. Typically, when I buy the DVD for something its to experience MORE of the product. I've seen Night Court on TV, I want the DVDs for all the extra goodies that tend to come with them. In this regard, there are no extras.

On the other hand, Night Court does not air on any network I have access to and its been years since I have seen an episode. So this model is providing the one thing that no one else is... Night Court. Not more, but Night Court all the same. After all these years, I still chuckle...

Masterpiece Classic: Downton Abbey Season 3 DVD (Original U.K. Version)

Downton Abbey Season 3 - Great Entertainment
The much anticipated Downton Abbey Series 3 starts in Spring 1920, carrying on from the superb Christmas Special which was set over the 1919/20 holiday period. The first episode picks up with Lady Mary and Matthew Crawley at last about to get hitched, but as usual there is quite a lot going on at Downton both above and below stairs and you just know that nothing is going to go smoothly.

Shirley Maclaine makes her appearance as Martha Levinson, Lady Grantham's American mother. As usual, Violet, played by Maggie Smith manages to set the scene with some rather pithy comments. Martha has no time for the stuffy English and their traditions and is not slow to voice her opinion. Clearly she was introduced as a foil to Maggie Smith and the interplay between the two does work very well as one suspected it would. Violet seems to manage to continue to dominate any scene she is in.

There are plenty of dramatic moments in the new series, as life on the Downton estate...

Surprised and Addicted!
This is NOT my genre. I resisted watching this series despite constant begging from multiple family members and friends. Having the week off around Christmas, I thought... what the heck. I have Amazon Prime, so watching the series was free!

Let me tell you... I watched TWO SEASONS IN THREE DAYS and I am suffering from major withdrawl today! This series sort of treads water for the first two episodes but by number 3 it dives deep and remains there. I was a terrible parent for the last three days while I hid myself in my bedroom with my kindle fire HD and watched this compulsively. WOW. LOVE IT.

Downton Abbey season 3
The US edition of DA Season 3 (original UK edition) is 3 disks, 526 minutes which includes in addition to the 9 episodes the 2012 Christmas in the Highlands as well as interview with Shirley MacLaine and some other behind the scenes specials. Amazon offers the best price (PBS offers $39.99), an even better deal if free shipping. I can't wait until this arrives the end of January! After football season this will keep us occupied for some time! Just thought I would share this info.
