Kathy Smith Timeless Collection: Shed The Pounds

If you want moderate
Nice bundle package, looks not very updated but sweet deal.
The camera work is not very good at some part, but still can see how to move.

I think the exersizes are for beginners and elderies. Or, people have not been working out for quite a while.
Kathy is taking time to teach basics how to position, keep posture and so.

Gentle Pilates for Beginners with Eva Bondar

Helped my core!
What I really loved about this video was that when I was done, I was no longer slouching (at that time!) and my core felt so much better. I am a photographer and carry around pounds of equipment, there is nothing like this video in helping to strengthen those stomach muscles needed! I felt so much better after the video.

She gently guides you through the different poses! So it makes you feel stronger and is relaxing at the same time!!

Highly recommend this video!

great all over work out to feel fit and beat insomnia
This is a very inspiring professional work out video that leaves you feeling like you have given your entire body a tailored workout. It moves at an excellent pace and is easy to follow. Instead of dreading workouts, you will look forward to working out with Eva Bonder's workout video. An extra bonus is that if you do it before bedtime, it leaves you in a much more relaxed condition and helps to beat insomnia; you wake up more refreshed and fit too! Check it out!

Best Pilates!!!
I was originally turned on to this video by my mom, who raved about what a great Pilates DVD it was. I have gone through quite a few Pilates DVDs, and never found any I liked. That all changed with Eva's DVD. I love everything about this DVD- it is filmed in Maui, on the beach, so you get to hear the waves as you work out. Eva has such a gentle, pleasing way about her, it creates a wonderful space to be in. I used this video to help me come back from a time when I was very sick, and could barely breathe- by doing this DVD, I was able to focus on healing and getting stronger. Even on days when I tell myself I don't feel like working out, I get out Eva's DVD and I am right on track. The exercises are all do-able by a range of abilities, the setting is great, and Eva is a great instructor. I highly recommend this video!!!

Yoga: Spirit of Vinyasa Flow with Pose Guide

Great flow
There are 3 classes on this dvd. Class a 39 minutes, class b 70 minutes, class c 71 minutes. I did classes a & b. Both of these classes take place on a cliff, somewhere. Why do yoga teachers insist on scaring us half to death by filming classes on rocks, cliffs, boulders or any place that looks dangerous or uncomfortable?? Would you do yoga on the edge of a cliff? I wouldn't.

Anyway, class A starts out as a nice simple easy class with a seated stretch, half salutes, half warrior one, triangle, standing split. Then it heats up to bound side angle and bird of paradise. That pose took me by surprise as she had lulled me into thinking that this class was for beginners. Alas it is not, it is for intermediates that don't feel like working very hard and are short on time. It also includes side stick with top leg in tree pose. You get into this pose from one legged down dog. Interesting never tried it that way before and guess what, it works! The class also includes camel,...

Great workout
This is a great workout that is definitely geared toward an intermediate to advanced practitioner, at bare minimum a beginner with a high degree of flexibility. Even the beginner flow (39 min long) includes some poses that you may not get the first time you try the DVD. There are 2 other flows that are 70 and 71 minutes respectively. These flows provide a great mix of beginner, intermediate, and advance poses done in a flow that will more than likely make you sweat. The DVD also includes a section with 20 or so poses that gets very detailed about how to enter and hold the poses. Overall the DVD quality is good and the instructor is excellent. I would suggest at least several years of experience before trying this DVD unless you have a gymnastics, a dance background, or a good enough understanding of yoga to otherwise be able to modify some of the poses to suit your level.

Calming & Energizing Workout At The Same Time
I can see why this teacher is so popular; her practice brings serenity and at the same time, energizes. The poses are standard like updog, downdog, cobra, etc., but it is the way they are done that brings the calmness. There are some advanced poses like: standing bound angle which can be a challenge but who doesn't want a challenge, now & again? I am delighted with this DVD.

Restorative Yoga Practice: Gentle Beginners Sessions

Well-done DVD offers the opportunity to experience the benefits of restorative yoga at home
In this DVD, instructor Deborah Donahue offers six different sequences, four of which are purely restorative, plus a meditation and a slightly more active morning routine. She provides live instruction and utilizes various props, including several blankets, a bolster, a strap, and blocks. The Main Menu of the DVD lists the following options and times for the practices:

*Introduction
*Meditation, 12 minutes
*Morning, 15 minutes
*Mid-Day, 45 minutes
*Evening A, 55 minutes
*Evening B, 55 minutes
*Restful Sleep, 85 minutes
*Credits

Donahue conducts each of the four restorative sessions in a similar manner. For every posture, she begins by describing the setup, including the props that will be required for the pose. Then, after providing guidance on how to come into the pose, she simply allows time to rest in the posture, only occasionally providing additional brief reminders on breath or alignment (and sometimes making small...

Yin-like yoga, but wish there was matrix menu.
This is a lovely restorative yoga practice with many options. You will need a bolster, strap, and blankets. All of the yoga positions are done on the floor with the exception of the morning 1/2 sun salute. Each position is held from 3-8 minutes.

Each practice is composed of recorded segments that are pieced together and many are repeated throughout the DVD, not always my favorite type of practice because it's somewhat choppy. This DVD however is better than many I've tried. The transitions are good, but it would have been better with a matrix-choice menu where you could build your own sequences.

In addition the music is a little too loud. I have to turn my TV up to hear Deborah and then the music is a bit too loud and not the best quality (although I do very much like the soothing flute music). Deborah gives an explanation about getting into the pose and provides a bit of encouragement to relax. Other than that you get to relax and enjoy. I sometimes go into...

Such a good discovery
I was so excited and hopeful to find this Restorative Yoga DVD. I have fibromyalgia and my yoga practice had been suffering because it became too difficult and painful for me to continue my usual routines. I needed guidance and the right instructor to show me the techniques that are gentle and quieting to my body and provide just the right balance for my particular challenges. Deborah Donohue is that instructor and I have been enjoying yoga again and finding a renewed sense of tranquility.

Yoga Journal: Fitness Challenge 3 DVD Set

not so good
I really like Alexandria Crow, but this dvd isn't a good representation of her ability as a teacher/instructor. This is run of the mill "exercises" instead a mind body connection of wellness~which is the entire reason for practicing yoga; in fact that is what yoga means "yoking" all of that together.

Good for supplemental fitness, but not an exclusive program
These workouts are nice, but at 20-30 minutes each, they are not long enough to give me the sense of a thorough workout and total body relaxation that a 60 minute, rigorous vinyasa/power yoga session gives me. These workouts might be good for an advanced beginner/ beginning intermediate level yoga practitioner who wants to build endurance, or for someone who needs shorter sessions due to time constraints, or for someone who is interested in less intense forms of asana-based yoga. The presenters are pleasant and the workouts are well-cued, with a nice variety of asanas.

More like calisthenics rather than yoga
This is not my favorite YJ video. I much prefer the strength and toning one. I was looking for something with shorter practices to do on days where I am short on time, but the practices in this set are not very inspiring. Too many yoga poses are used to do "reps". Made it seem more like an exercise class rather than a short, intense yoga practice. I didn't really feel like I was building heat or strength in any of the practices.
