Hearts Afire - The Complete Series

Hearts Afire
In the fall of 1992, the late John Ritter (Three's Company) returned to television in the political sitcom Hearts Afire, playing John Hartman, a senator's aid and a recently divorced father of two boys. His life is flipped upside down when a down-on-her-luck journalist Georgie Anne Lahti (played by Night Court's Markie Post) walks into his office looking for a job and ends up staying at his house. Sparks fly between the two and they eventually tie the knot before the end of the first season. The second season changed the series setting from Washington D.C. to John's southern home town, where they buy a local newspaper office.

Billy Bob Thornton costarred for the entire series' run as Billy Bob Davis. Two and a Half Men's Conchata Ferrell joined the cast during the second season as Dr. Madeline Stoessinger; although she did play another character during the first season for two episodes.

Mill Creek Entertainment has recently released the complete series with...

great to have in my dvd collection.
being a great john ritter, markie post fan, i was excited to see this released on dvd. the first season is wonderfull quality, & the following seasons faded as they were downloaded appearently from some other kind of format. resulting in somewhat poorer quality. still not a bad deal for the price.

John Ritter take two
After the successful Three's Company and the disaster that was Three's A Crowed...John Ritter graced the our tvs once again with Hearts Afire. The show is better than I remembered it. It has a great cast and is rather funny. I give the show 5 stars but drop it 2 stars due to the poor picture quality of the episodes. I've seen better transfers from older tv shows.

VR Troopers: Season One, Vol. 2

Great Fun for VR Trooper Fans...But Beware Missing Episode
A mere three months after Shout Factory released the first 26 episodes of VR Troopers comes this DVD set covering the second half of Season 0ne (or at least most of the second half...more on that in a bit). The saga of Ryan, Kaitlin, and JB continues as they deal with more of Grimlord's menacing mutants. Many of the episodes on the set are a joy to see, but the standout ones are the four episodes that comprise the Defending Darkheart story arc. This saga, in which Ryan finally learns the fate of his long-lost father, is dramatic and emotional, and is a must see for every VR Trooper fans. Other episodes feature the Troopers being turned into children, encountering the Ghost Biker, and fighting Grimlord's own VR Trooper. There's even an episode in which Ryan and his talking dog, Jeb, switch bodies! As you can probably guess, hilarity ensues.

This set also contains a pretty cool five-minute clip that was made to introduce the series. Originally included on various Power Ranger...

The only negative about this set is that it's missing one episode "Grimlord's House of Fear" is listed to be the first episode on the first disc, but it's not there, it goes straight...

The VR Troopers Return!
It sucks that the episode : Grimlords House Of Fear is not on volume 2 , but what kinda makes it up to me is episode 49 with the robot monster Vanbot . I wish Bandai Toys would have turned him into a transforming toy , because he's sort of like a new Renagade Gobot . Which reminds me ; when will the rest of Challenge of the Gobots come out on dvd ? It & the next volume of the VR Troopers better have carriter bios on everyone from their respected tv shows .

Lighthouses of Australia

A little bit of this, a little bit of that
Narrated by Australian actor Tom Burlinson this product does what it says on the tin, discusses a range of lighthouses in Australia. The one hour, 43 minute DVD takes the viewer on a journey that criss-crosses the nation in no particular order and all up 19 lighthouses are featured. As you can imagine, with 19 lighthouses covered and around 100 minutes programme time... well you can do the maths regarding the sort of times devoted to each point of interest. Not massive but probably adequate.

Effectively each lighthouse is introduced, its location discussed and snippets of information are sprinkled into the viewers ear and if there are interesting historical or social footnotes relating to the lighthouse those are included too. These are most often in the nature of discussion of some boating tragedy in the area. Lighthouse keepers and members of historical societies are given the chance to speak about some of the structures in question and in some instances the workmanship...
